What Is Residual Waste?

In many ways residual waste is defined by what it is not. It is not municipal waste. Residual waste does not include certain coal mining wastes and wastes from normal farming activities. And it is industrial waste that is not defined by state and federal law as hazardous. It includes solid, liquid or gaseous waste material produced by industrial, mining and agricultural operations. It also includes construction and demolition waste. Because they can differ from each other, residual wastes present differing kinds and levels of risk to human health and the environment.

This project for Hazleton is under WMGR085 for residual waste as defined below:

Processing and beneficial use of freshwater, brackish and marine dredge material, cement kiln dust, lime kiln dust, coal ash, and cogeneration ash by screening, mechanical blending and compaction in mine reclamation.
